St Luke’s Hospice Winter Update: Thank You for Supporting Disaster Relief
This June, we would like to thank everyone who supported our recent Disaster Relief Appeal. Severe winter storms placed added pressure on vulnerable patients and families across the Western Cape. Your generosity helped us provide warmth, dignity and practical support during a difficult time.
Through your support, we reached patients and families in Grassy Park, Khayelitsha, Gugulethu, Mitchells Plain, City Bowl/Liesbeeck and Wynberg. The response to our appeal showed what can happen when people come together with a shared desire to help.
Celebrating the Success of Our Charity Golf Day
As part of the St Luke’s Hospice winter update, we are also grateful to everyone who made our Charity Golf Day such a success. The event brought together 84 players across 21 teams, along with generous sponsors, prize donors and supporters. The day was filled with connection, laughter and purpose.
Every team entry, sponsorship and donated prize helped strengthen the support available to our patients and their families. We are thankful to everyone who gave their time, resources and energy to make the day possible.
Why Community Support for Palliative Care Matters
Palliative care goes beyond treating physical symptoms. It also considers the emotional, social and spiritual needs of patients and their families. The World Health Organization explains that palliative care can improve quality of life for people living with life-threatening illness.
