5 Powerful Ways to Support Hospice Care

Support hospice care this April by getting involved with St Luke’s Combined Hospices through meaningful events, remembrance giving, donations and charity shop support. Every contribution helps us provide compassionate palliative care to vulnerable patients and families across the Western Cape. Whether you attend an event, honour someone special or simply give what you can, your support helps bring comfort, dignity and hope to people when they need it most.

1. Support Hospice Care at Our Charity Golf Day

Our upcoming Charity Golf Day offers a wonderful opportunity to enjoy a day on the course while making a real difference. Every swing, putt and team entry helps us support hospice care for patients and families. The event brings people together around a shared purpose while raising valuable funds for the work of St Luke’s Combined Hospices. It is more than a day out. It is a chance to support dignity, comfort and hope while connecting with others who care about our community. You can view more activities on our events page.

2. Support Hospice Care Through Padel4Palliative

For those who enjoy friendly competition, we are also looking forward to our Padel4Palliative one-day tournament on 16 May 2026 at Aura Padel. Whether you are an experienced player or trying padel for the first time, the event offers a fun way to support hospice care. By joining the tournament, sharing the event or encouraging others to take part, you become part of the wider community that makes our work possible.

3. Support Hospice Care Through the Tree of Lights

Our Tree of Lights offers a meaningful way to remember someone special while helping us support hospice care. Buying a light is a beautiful gesture of love, remembrance and hope. It gives families and friends a way to honour people who have touched their lives. At the same time, every contribution helps patients and their families receive compassionate care during some of life’s most difficult moments.

4. Make a Donation to Support Hospice Care

A direct donation is one of the simplest ways to support hospice care. Donations help St Luke’s Combined Hospices provide medical, emotional, social, spiritual and bereavement support to patients and families across the Western Cape. The World Health Organization provides more information about palliative care and its role in improving quality of life for people living with serious illness. If you would like to contribute directly, visit our donation page to explore the different ways you can give.

5. Support Hospice Care Through Our Charity Shops

You can also support hospice care by visiting or donating to one of our charity shops across the Western Cape. Purchasing quality pre-loved goods or donating items you no longer need can turn everyday items into meaningful support for patients and families. Clothing, books, furniture, household goods and other quality donations can all make a difference. Visit our charity shops page to learn more.

Why Supporting Hospice Care Matters

There are many ways to stand with St Luke’s Combined Hospices. You can attend an event, make a donation, remember a loved one or support one of our charity shops. Every action helps us continue providing compassionate care during some of life’s most difficult moments. Our work focuses not only on physical care but also on the emotional, social and spiritual needs of patients and their families. You can learn more about the palliative care work we provide across greater Cape Town.
